Gallagher guitars have been made of African Mahogany as opposed to Honduras Mahogany since the early 1970s. Honduras Mahogany was used prior to this time.

We changed to African because it is a harder wood and provides better projection. Note definition is crisp and clear. This wood coupled with voiced top bracing produces a sound that is full and rich.

Also, African Mahogany has a striking grain which is very pleasing to the eye.
