The first A-70 was built in 1977 for a customer in France! It’s a great fingerstyle guitar with excellent balance that makes a great guitar for recording. Steve Dickers has one of the largest Gallagher collections says that the A-70 is his favorite guitar in his collection!
The A-70 is an auditorium body with rosewood back and side with a select sitka spruce top. It has appointments like all of the 70 series guitars: ivorid bound body, neck and fingerboard; mother-of-pearl diamond and square position markers; ebony fingerboard and bridge; herringbone purfling and sound hole rosette; bone nut and saddle; and chrome Schaller tuning keys.
The neck width at the nut is 1 3/4".
