The G-70 has a Skita Spruce Top combined with a draught body of quarter-sawn rosewood to produce a superb instrument.  The top and sound hole are trimmed in herringbone.  The bound ebony fingerboard is inlayed with mother-of-pearl diamonds and squares.  The traditional old English mother-of-pearl "G" sets off the bound headstock.
The width of the neck at the nut is 1 11/16".
Chris Jones has played a lot of bluegrass tunes on his G-70 since he first got it in 1981.
