The Southern Star was design by Stephen Gallagher with the input of Bob Miner (Tim McGraw’s guitar player) specifically for acoustic country music. The Slope Shoulder Dreadnaught gives the Honduras and Adirondack body a bright, crisp mid range that really has a punch!
The Southern Star is a slope shoulder dreadnaught body with Honduras Mahogany back and sides and an Adirondack top with tall knife edge Adirondack bracing. The body, fretboard, and headstock are bound with Cocobolo Rosewood with a maple trim. The Southern Star has Black white black purfling and a single band rosette with rosewood and abalone. The fingerboard is ebony with an abalone and mother of pearl star inlay below the 12th fret. The headstock veneer is ebony with the Bell Flower inlay. The guitar is finished with a sunburst top and vintage toner on the back and sides. The Southern Star has Waverly tuners and is set up with mammoth ivory nut, saddle and bridge pins.
