Today we go back into the attic and look in J.W.’s old wood stash for cherry boards to make guitar backs. The boards are cut and planed so that they are level and the desired thickness. We also find a piece of rosewood to use as a decorative center section for the middle of the back. The rosewood is also planed and cut in thin strips.
Once the three piece of the back are cut to size, we glue them together and use clamps to keep them flush and even while the glue dries. We use this wheel to have multiple backs drying at one time.
